When you are a pregnant woman you need at least:  Grain group (7-8 ounces-equivalent)  Vegetable Group(3cups )  Fruit Group (2cups)  Milk Group (3Cups)  Meat & bean Group (6 to 6.5 ounces- equivalent) Eating Healthy

Foods pregnant Women should avoid :  Raw milk and foods made from raw milk  Soft cheese unless they have labels that clearly states they been made from pasteurized milk.  Raw partially cooked eggs and foods that contain them.  Uncooked meat, poultry, fish, or shell fish.  Cold cuts, deli meats, and hotdogs, unless they have been reheated to steaming hot. Prenatal care- is health care during pregnancy.  A woman who do not receive the proper prenatal care Place herself and the baby at risk.  With the help of her health care provider, she learns what  Steps she can take to give her developing baby the best Possible start in life. Prenatal Care

A physician or other health care provider is a key partner in a healthy pregnancy. Most Women Choose an OBSTETRICIAN  Obstetrician- a medical doctor who specializes in pregnancy and delivery. There are many more options such as CERTIFIED NURSE MIDWIFE  Certified Nurse Midwife- a professional trained to care for women with low-risk pregnancies and to deliver their babies. However, some options can be determined / limited by the woman’s health care coverage, where she lives, etc. Health Care Provider

Trimesters

The first three moths are known as the 1 st trimester. In the first trimester the baby is known as :  The zygote  The Embryo  The Fetus The sac is filled with amniotic fluid. 1 ST Trimester

The 2 nd trimester is the next three months which are 4,5,6. At this stage the baby is kicking, moving around, and also sucking their thumb. The lungs strengthen as the baby breathes in the amniotic fluid in and out. 2 nd Trimester

 The 3 rd trimester is the last three months of your pregnancy. The brain and other parts of the nervous system continues to develop. The average birth weight is 7.5 pounds. 3 rd Trimester
