Unit Objectives In this unit, we will ONLY cover: Grammar: Should, for advice (page 151 till activity 3 page 153) Style: Expressing an Opinion (page 154)

Grammar: Should for Advice Use Should to give someone advice. Should means “ it’s a good idea to…” Example: You should put your money in the bank Always use the base form (infinitive) of the verb after should Example You really should take a vacation Base form of the verb

The negative of should is should not. Example: People should not break an agreement Use shouldn’t in speaking and informal writing. Example: You shouldn’t spend all your money Remember: Always use the base form of the verb after shouldn’t Grammar: Should for Advice

Style: Expressing an Opinion  An opinion is your belief about something.  When you write, you need to give your opinion in a clear way.  You also need to support your opinion with clear, strong reasons because your reader might not have the same opinion as you.
