Course Description In this course students will be working on activities which allows for the development of the four linguistic skills which are listening, speaking, reading and writing. Moreover, those activities will be performed in different settings due to the blended nature of this course; that is to say, students will be working in attendance and virtual environments, and using different tools and materials which enable for participate in common situations carried out in a second language

Objectives To reinforce the linguistic abilities in L2 of the students through communicative activities in which students can use a second language in real and virtual contexts. To create fictitious and real communicative situations where students are able to express their ideas in a second language in order to promote interaction, and to train them for real future situations. To demonstrate the student´s ability to control language by following the established grammatical rules of English in writing and speaking. To make the students discover online tools which facilitate their process of learning.

Assignment and Class work Individual oral presentations. Informal collaborative work (jigsaw Activities). Debates of current situations. Reading and listening comprehension activities and exams. Writing short formal and informal papers. Students will work on their own personal blog.

Grading Criteria The evaluation will be permanent and necessary for students to pass this course and to get their certificate and diploma. Participation (10%) Tasks and activities (20 %) Midterm (20%) Debates (30%) Personal Blog (20%)

Assessment Most of the activities in classroom will be evaluated and graded taking into consideration how the learners have improve in their process of enhancing their linguistic abilities. All the activities which will be posted in the blog will be assessed in order to know if students manage the new virtual tools they are given.
