1 Microsoft Access Security Warnings Note: This presentation was created with "Access 2002". You might have slightly different warnings with other versions of Access. To see your version of Access choose "About Microsoft Access" from the "Help" menu.

2 Problems Downloading Access Files When you download an Access file you might not be able to open it right away. Access guards against possible viruses in Access files. If you are sure that the file came from a "safe" source (i.e. your professor) then you can ignore these warnings. To open such a file, do the following:

3 Download file from the web (click on the link)

4 Press Save

5 Choose a folder and press save

6 Press Open

7 Possible Security Warning

8 If you get the following warning see next slide …

9 If you see the following warning … Click OK (access will open without the file) Close Access Open "Windows Explorer" Right click on the filename and choose "properties" Click "Unblock" button (see next slide)

10 Click Unblock
