A prayer of dedication [following slides taken from building celebration in 2010 –but not actually used on this recent Sunday – here for your interest]

SOBC people… Father God, We, the people of South Oxhey Baptist Church dedicate this building and ourselves to your service. We commit ourselves to use the gifts you give us, including this building to honour you, and in your name to serve the people of South Oxhey and beyond.

May we do this in ways inspired by the example of Jesus and empowered by the Holy Spirit. Strengthen us as we seek to be a welcoming community of people with Jesus Christ at the centre.

All Lord God Almighty, Make this a place and us a people where love for you is expressed wholeheartedly, and you are pleased to make your presence known. Make this be a home from home where the transforming love of Christ is given and received in abundance.

Make this a place where people can discover the reality of a relationship with Jesus Christ. And lead this body of people forward in faith, in love and in the name of Jesus. For your glory. Amen.
