PROmax - Time for a new family of power supplies The existing PRO-M power supply is the “Best in Class” power supply in the market. PRO-M started 2009 in the market and passed the zenith of the life- cycle. Competitors are working on new series in the mid-spec range. To prevent, that the competitors overtake us, we developed a new power supply series with better technical features. PROmax will prevent, that the competitors will decrease the gap. We will be able to obligate the existing PRO-M customers close to Weidmüller and have the potential to get new customers. PROmax will expand our advantage and our competitiveness in the marketplace and provide an important contribution to increasing the market share.
What power supply I recommend to my customers: Simple requirements for e.g. series machine manufacturing or elevator industry. Approvals like CE and UL are enough. Average requirements for technical features, e.g. derating > 55°C, no Power Boost, … Customer decides by price. Higher requirements for e.g. machine and plant construction, in outdoor applications like in wind turbines or in ship building. With extensive approvals as UL, GL, CCC, SEMI F47 and Cl1Div2 PROmax can be used in a lot of industy segments. PROmax fulfills requirements like high input protection (1-pase input power range up to 277 V AC, overvoltage category III), additional power reserve, wide temperature range (-40 °C Start-Up, Derating > 60 °C), narrow housing, … ATEX Zone 2 approval for hazardous areas in the process industry. Product Utility / Attribute Space-saving width With extremely small width and direct side-by-side fitting, minimal space is required on the DIN rail. Robust and reliable supply MTBF values exceeding 500,000 hours and a wide temperature range of -25°C to 70 °C ensure reliable supply of the systems. Start-up temperatures of -40 °C make the PROmax particularly robust. Universal application Variants with 3 A to 40 A output current, output voltages of 5 V DC to 48 V DC and numerous approvals (e.g. GL, UL, Cl1 Div.2) enable universal application solutions the world over.
