SEPTEMBER 18, 2015 MONTHLY BED DAY REPORTS AND RECLAIM FORMULA

GREAT MYSTERIES OF MANKIND DYS RECLAIM FORMULA

Uses information from Two reports: Monthly Bed Day Report Annual Adjudication Report

MONTHLY BED DAYS Ohio Total9,8467,17817,024 85,36162,327147,688 Monthly County Bed Days County Year to Date Bed Days State Year to Date Bed Days State Monthly Bed Days DYS bed day credits: credits Total bed day credits: credits used by the end of March To calculate CCF bed day credits: (618/3)*2 = credits State CCF bed day credits: (62,327/3)*2 = 41, State DYS bed day credits: 85,361 credits Total State bed day credits: 126, credits used by the end of March

CALCULATE THE MULTIPLIER The multiplier is used to determine the total number of Bed Day Credits allocated to each county. Determine the estimated number of bed day credits that will be used in the FY. (YTD total credits used/number of days of FY)*365 County Total (503/274(number of days since 7/1)*365 = State Total (126,912.33/274)*365 = 169,062.05

ADJUDICATIONS Average Felony of Felony Adjud. Adjudications CountyFY 2007FY 2008FY 2009FY2010FY2011FY2012FY2013FY2014FY Totals8,8547,9997,1036,5115,6545,0744,6364,6746, Ohio Total number of adjudications / 8 State Total Bed Day Credits169, Multiplier Multiplier is determined by dividing the State Total Bed Day Credits by the State Average Felony Adjudications. 169, / 6, =

SO WHAT DOES THAT MEAN……. The multiplier is used to calculate the total number of bed day credits a county is allocated in a FY!!! (The County’s average adjudications * the multiplier)* * = 1, * 1.5 = 1, Average# of Credits Felony of FelonyBased on Adjud. Adjudications CountyFY 2007FY 2008FY 2009FY2010FY2011FY2012FY2013FY2014FY (* *1.5) Ohio ,

AND….. The county’s forecasted bed day credits used are subtracted from the county’s forecasted allocated bed day credits: If the number is a positive the county will receive a RECLAIM allocation in the NEXT fiscal year If number is a negative the county will not receive a RECLAIM allocation in the next fiscal year. County will still receive Youth Services Grant (base) funds.

Ohio County has a positive balance of forecasted bed day credits The number of remaining bed day credits is used to determine the % of the county’s allocation of RECLAIM funds. County’s remaining credits divided by the total credits remaining in the state in this case 96, credits # of Credits Projected FY 2015Remaining After % ofFY 201X Bed Day RemainingRECLAIM CreditsDeductions (-)DeductionsCreditsAllocations %$266, = $30,600, *.86941% = / 96,784.75
