e-Praise, Scoring points, Houses and You A new, interesting school year for you to earn points, extra points and bonus points. Making the most of your time in your school

A New House System for Y8 – For You 4 separate houses – each form will be in 1 of the 4 houses. Names that reflect the history of your school Jenner Pilkington Mills Dewhurst

Its all on You Everything you do will contribute to the “House” score. e-Praise points that you get will score for your form and your house. Any activities you do will get you e-Praise points The House League Table will be shown each week in Assembly.

Your chance to shine…… Each house will need 2 House Captains – 1 boy, 1 girl Each house will need 2 Sports Captains 1 boy, 1 girl Each form will need 2 Form Captains too !

Staff House Leaders Your form Tutor will represent your house. There will be 4 Staff House Leaders. They will keep totals of points, help you to do the best you can for your house and help me and other staff to notice you and what you do well.

How you get e-Praise points Doing everything you should in class. Show good effort – make sure your teachers notice you! Get noticed for the right reasons

Bonus points for You

Already planned for Y8 and you Indoor Inter-form 6-a-side Cricket (mixed) Spelling competition Inter-form Badminton championship (mixed doubles) Maths competition Weekly Quiz champions Inter-form Football Champions League Loads of other things. What do you want?

But that’s not all……. Community e-Praise points Go to a uniformed organisation every week? Help your mum wash up? Go fishing – caught a personal best fish? Karate – new grading? Dancing – in a show? Voluntary work – helping others? Help out in school – staff, class, friends, non- friends, open evening, anyone you can help? A good deed – just being community spirited?

And then there is doing normal things Be polite – manners really do count, they cost nothing. Smile – its good to enjoy school life. Achieve – its great to get good results. All these things can earn you e-Praise points. Make sure your Form Tutor knows and adds your points.

You might as well enjoy it. You might as well get the most out of it. Make your school life memorable …….for the right reasons

You are not alone………. When staff want to talk about you - they talk to me or Mrs Coffey. They talk to your Form Tutor. They talk to each other. Make sure those conversations are about how fantastic you are. So you, your Form Tutor, your Form, your House, your Staff House Leader, Mrs Coffey and your Head of Year are all part of the same thing. Your year group, our year group
