“Fighting Hunger…Feeding Hope” ™ Food for Kids Backpack Program Each child receives a backpack filled with shelf-stable, nutritious food to sustain them over weekends and holidays when school meal programs are not available. Last fiscal year, we served nearly 18,500 chronically hungry children in 514 elementary schools in 53 central and western Oklahoma counties.

“Fighting Hunger…Feeding Hope” ™ School Pantry Program The Regional Food Bank is currently operating 143 School Pantries throughout the metro area. During the school year, the School Pantry program served over nearly 5,000 students and distributed 821,186 pounds of food – the equivalent of 684,322 meals.

Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma partners with 17 sites around the Oklahoma City metro including YMCA, OKC Parks and Rec, Boys & Girls Clubs and others, to provide lunch and snacks to students over the extended school breaks. More than 15,000 meals meals were provided to 1,400 students over school breaks. School’s Out

“Fighting Hunger…Feeding Hope” ™ Through a 13 year partnership with USDA and the Oklahoma Department of Education, the Summer Feeding program provided more than 242,000 meals to 6,500 children at 93 summer feeding sites during fiscal year Summer Feeding for rural communities is underwritten by a grant from the Sodexo Foundation. “Fighting Hunger…Feeding Hope” ™ Kids Cafe and Snack Sites 37 sites provide an afterschool safe haven for at-risk youth where children can receive a meal and get help with homework and life- skills. Meals and snacks were provided to 6,300 + children in fiscal year More fresh fruits and vegetables are made available on a regular basis as we worked to improve the nutritional content of all meals.

Senior Mobile Pantry The Regional Food Bank assists with 18 Senior Mobile sites and served about 1,000 seniors a month, providing nearly 13,000 meals during fiscal year 2015.

“Fighting Hunger…Feeding Hope” ™ There are 29 Senior Home Delivery sites in our service area. Seniors who receive our home delivery sacks get a nutritional supplement that helps them to hold off hunger at the end of the month when money is tight. These sites serve an average of 800 seniors a month. Senior Home Delivery

I get $88 in Food Stamps each month, but by the time I’ve gone to the grocery story that’s mostly gone. Oklahoma ranks among the 10 worst states for many key health indicators, including: cardiovascular deaths, physical inactivity, premature deaths, obesity, and preventable hospitalizations. “Fighting Hunger…Feeding Hope” ™ Fresh Food Mobile Market Last year, 8 sites served an average of 1,568 Oklahomans each month, totaling 520,477 pounds of fresh produce last fiscal year. Each month, the Fresh Food Mobile Market provides each client an average of 27 pounds of fresh fruits and vegetables.
