Four things to do to keep yourself healthy: 1.Eat a balanced diet. 2.Keep your weight within the healthy range for you. 3.Exercise regularly 4.Get enough rest

1. Eat a balance diet Use Canada’s Food Guide

2. Healthy weight

Exercise regularly Physical activity helps: healthy growth and development prevent chronic diseases like cancer, Type 2 diabetes and heart disease make us stronger give us energy decrease stress

4. Rest Sleep is linked to: - immune system(less sleep, more colds, flu) - heart disease (less sleep, the more inflamed blood vessels are) - diabetes (less sleep, the less able our bodies are to use glucose)

– Brain function (poor judgement, poor hand-eye coordination, poor memory) – Obesity (less sleep, more prone to unhealthy weight gain)

Nutritional Problems Deficiency diseases: - occurs when a nutrient is missing from your diet. (see page 468)
