PLANNED PROGRAMME FOR MAINTENANCE Phase I 1. Prepare a list of all machines and equipments to be covered and codify them for the purpose of identification 2. Collect all required information about each and every machines or equipments on a machine card or equipment record card it includes makers name, specifications, date of purchase, date of installations, service life, physical dimensions, operational specifications, spare parts and service required 3. Classify the machines and equipments into critical, sub critical and non critical 4. Prepare lubrication schedule and standards 5. Prepare inspection schedule for all machines and equipments 6. Design the recording and paper work procedure for proper communication and to maintain record for future use

PLANNED PROGRAMME FOR MAINTENANCE Phase II 1. Develop maintenance organization specifying various line and staff functions 2. Determine manpower requirements on the basis of estimated workload 3. Communicate and explain the maintenance plan to all concerned 4. Train personnel who are to implement this plan 5. Allocate work to individuals Phase III 1. Modify the programmed in the light of experience gained 2. Strike proper balance between preventive and breakdown maintenance

PLANNED PROGRAMME FOR MAINTENANCE Phase IV 1. Develop maintenance standard time on the basis of synthetic time standards. 2. Decide spares and machines replacements policy 3. Apply modern techniques like OR, PERT, Method study
