Riyaad-us-Saliheen Numerous ways of doing good Taught by Br Wajdi Akkari Commentary of Shaikh Ibn Uthaymeen Lesson 33

Abu Musa Al-Ash`ari (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: Messenger of Allah ( ﷺ ) said, "When a slave of Allah suffers from illness or sets on a journey, he is credited with the equal of whatever good works he used to do when he was healthy or at home". [Al-Bukhari]  If one performed a good deed regularly but is unable to perform it due to an illness or as a result of travelling he will still receive the reward for it  The Sunnah is not to pray the Sunnan of the prayer with the 2 Sunnah of Fajr and the Witr prayer being exceptions Hadith

Jabir (May Allah be pleased with him) reported that he heard Messenger of Allah ( ﷺ ) saying, "Every good deed is charity". [Al-Bukhari] Hadith

Jabir (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: Messenger of Allah ( ﷺ ) said, "When a Muslim plants a tree, whatever is eaten from it is charity from him and whatever is stolen is charity and whatever is subtracted from it is charity". [Muslim] Another narration says: "If a Muslim plants a tree, or sows a field and men and beasts and birds eat from it, all of it is charity from him".  When reciting the Quran, we should reflect on what we are reading, the objective is not to read but to understand the message And among them are unlettered ones who do not know the Scripture except in wishful thinking, but they are only assuming. [Surah 2:78]  They only knew how to read but did not understand  One may be blind but may still have an understanding Hadith

Jabir (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The tribe Banu Salimah wanted to move nearer to the mosque. On learning this Messenger of Allah ( ﷺ ) said to them, "I heard that you intend to move nearer to the mosque". They said, "That is so, O Messenger of Allah, we do want to do that". He said, "O Banu Salimah, keep to your homes, your steps (to the mosque) are recorded". [Muslim] Hadith

Ubayy bin Ka`b (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: There was a man, and I do not know of any other man whose house was farther than his from the mosque, and he never missed Salat (in congregation). It was said to him (or I said to him): "If you buy a donkey you could ride it in the dark nights and in the burning sand.'' He said: "I do not like my house to be by the side of the mosque, for I (eagerly) desire that my steps towards the mosque and back from it should be recorded when I return to my family.'' Upon this Messenger of Allah ( ﷺ ) said, "Allah has granted you all the rewards for you". [Muslim] Another narration says: "You will get the reward for what you have anticipated".  He went through the hardship in order to obtain the reward and the Prophet confirmed that Allah had given him the reward  The reward of Jama'ah is that in the mosque, not with a group in the home  According to the Ulamah, if the one following has a better Fatiha than that of the Imam, the Salah is void Hadith

 Abu Mas`ud `Uqbah bin `Amr Al-Badri Al-Ansari (RadiyAllahu anhu) reported: Messenger of Allah ( ﷺ ) said: "The person who is best versed in the recitation of the Book of Allah, should lead the prayer; but if all those present are equally versed in it, then the one who has most knowledge of the Sunnah; if they are equal in that respect too, then the one who has embraced Islam first, if they are equal in this respect also, then the oldest of them. No man should lead another in prayer where the latter has authority, or sit in his house, without his permission". [Muslim]  The Salaf would say if one is negligent about being in the first row of Salah, then do not keep in his company as he will eventually lead you to Jahannam  Abu Huraira reported that Allah's Messenger ( ﷺ ) said, "The best of the rows of men is the first and the worst is the last.”  The Prophet [ ﷺ ] said: "People will continue to withdraw to rows behind the first one until Allah puts them in a back place in Hell.“ (Related by Abu Dawud) Explanation
