Meals for field trips funded by the student nutrition program by providing sack lunches or grill sites that meet the meal pattern requirements. Pizza parties that meet the meal pattern requirements. Summer lunch – grill sites, sack lunches and hot meals. Central kitchen serving other district schools. Provide reimbursable meals for daycares and pre-schools in the area. Catering services. MEALS PER LABOR HOUR 4 BREAKFASTS AFTER THE BELL = 1 LUNCH EXAMPLE: WE SERVED 680 STUDENTS BREAKFAST AND 475 STUDENTS ATE LUNCH AND WE HAD FOUR EMPLOYEES THAT WORKED 8 HOURS EACH FOR A TOTAL OF 32 HOURS. EQUATION: 680/4= =645/32= MEALS PER LABOR HOUR 3 BREAKFASTS = 1 LUNCH EXAMPLE: WE SERVED 125 STUDENTS BREAKFAST BEFORE THE BELL AND 520 STUDENTS ATE LUNCH AND WE HAD FOUR EMPLOYEES THAT WORKED 8 HOURS EACH FOR A TOTAL OF 32 HOURS. EQUATION: 125/3= =561.67/32= MEALS PER LABOR HOUR LABOR COSTS
In all instances, schools districts should account for National school lunch, breakfast, catering, adult meals and Summer feeding program in a special revenue fund. The serving days may vary from year to year which may dramatically affect both revenue and expenditures. Some districts contract with third party food service providers.
