Features and How-to’s Introduction to Computers Mr. Jain

Beginning a Presentation  Open Microsoft PowerPoint  Open a blank presentation  Insert your first slide

Inserting a new slide  Go to Home  Select NEW SLIDE  double click on the type of slide that you would like  ***You generally want to start your presentation with a title slide****

Inserting text  Click on the text box  Type in the information  Hit the enter key when finished

Inserting a Graphic  Select the “Insert” tab and click on Image or clip art  double click on the graphic box  select the clip-art you want

Different PowerPoint Views  Click on the “View” tab Slide View Outline View Slide Sorter View Notes Page Slide Show

Slide View  Views only one slide at a time  Use this view when working on a slide

Outline View  See your presentation in outline form  You can make changes to one or more of your slides

Slide Sorter View  You can view all of your slides just as they will appear  You can move slides around in different orders just by clicking and dragging them to the place you want.

Notes Page View  Allows you to see your slide  Allows you to add notes to each slide  You will do this for most of your projects. Insert notes here

Slide Backgrounds  Go to Design  Select color scheme

Saving your work...  File/Save As..  Select the directory in which to save your presentation  Give your presentation a name  Click OK

Viewing your slide show...  Go to View  Select “Slide Show”  Left mouse click to advance to the next slide  Right click to end the slide show.

Your assignment...  Go back to the Assignments page and complete the assignment.
