What are penguins Penguins are birds that don’t fly. Penguins stay in groups to keep warm. Penguins move around by waddling or sliding on their belly.

Staying Warm Penguins stay warm by huddling together in groups. They have groups that huddle together cause they separate the children from the parents. They also have a layer of fat to help keep warm.

Babies Babies eat by their parents coughing up their food and giving it to them. When the baby hatches the mom goes out immediately for food. The mom has to travel more than 100 miles to find food.

Fascinating facts The only time penguins go airborne is when they dive in the water. Penguins can stay under water for two minutes.
