ON RIGHTEOUSNESS The Aims of Islam

RIGHTEOUS HUMMAN

What makes a Righteous Man ?

BELIEF AND FAITH  The righteous man is the one who believes that there is only one God that is ALLAH.  He only Believes in Allah and his messenger Prophet Muhammad(PBUH).  The righteous man believes that there is a creator of him and the entire world around him and that it is ALLAH.  The righteous man believes in The books of Allah and his prophets and is always preparing for the Day of Judgment to receive his reward i.e. Jannah.

RITES AND WORSHIP  A Muslim should be totally aware of the fact that he was created by ALLAH and the main reason of his existence in this world is to worship ALLAH.  Allah has made things easier for man in this world by sending down Prophets who have guided and instructed mankind for a long time.  Since Prayer is one of the five pillars of Islam a man cannot be righteous without worshipping Allah.

Character and Virtue  A righteous man is merciful and sets a good example, just as the Prophet Mohammad (pbuh).  A righteous man in his heart is a man of character and virtue, in whom purity states itself in every sense of the word.  A righteous man sets aside all his instincts and passions and sacrifices himself by practice to reach a high level of purity.  When a Muslim conducts the regular acts of devotion, prays 5 times a day, he advances his soul further and even more closer to Allah.

LAW AND AIM  Allah has sent down man with guidance, laws and rules which are for the best of him.  The main source of guidance and laws is the Holy Qur’an and The Sunnah. Allah has also sent down Prophets to guide mankind through the right path.  Allah has permitted the lawful and has forbidden the restricted and it is the duty of a righteous man to adhere to the laws and rules and follow them.

PROPAGATION AND STRUGGLE  A Muslim struggles on doing good for his group. He works hard for the interests of others in his group.  A Muslim calls and preaches other people towards what Allah has guided him for.  A Muslim gives good advice to others and encourages them to follow it, and he himself accepts and follows advices from other righteous people.  A Muslim is a broadcaster as he realizes and understands that his message is for the entire world, and therefore struggles towards spreading the light and simplifying it for the universal mercy.

INTELLECT AND KNOWLEDGE  A righteous man clearly understands the fact that there is no difference between Islam and Intellect or Religion and Knowledge.  The Holy Quran criticizes work done on the basis of Guess and commands us to gain proper knowledge and wisdom before doing something.  Islam also forbids following other things without proper inspection and understanding of the situation.

BUILDING AND PRODUCTIVITY  A righteous man is a man of work and production for living. He gives to life just as he takes from it.  Allah has sent down man to Earth for a reason. Allah has asked man to build the Earth a better place day by day.  Allah made Earth for the sake of comfort of man.

Righteous Family

What makes a righteous family ?

ISLAM RECMMENDS MARRIAGE  Marriage is a blessing given to us by Allah and thus every Muslim is supposed to get married when he is able to.  There were a few misconceptions where devoting ones self completely to worship and forgetting marriage. This is totally wrong.  When ever the prophet learned that any of his companions is avoiding or ignoring his marital relationships because of worship he prohibited their extremes and recommended them the right thing.

AIMS OF MARRIAGE  It is the rule of Allah that in this universe nothing can perform a duty alone and thus a partner is required.  By marriage occurs birth, by which the existence of man is continued.  Marriage shields a Muslims man from committing unlawful relationships.  Marriage is a way of preserving worldly happiness.  Marriage is the only way of starting a family, which is the foundation of a society.  With marriage a man can concern himself with outdoor activities and not worry much about his home as his wife will take care of things at home.

CORRUPT AND WRONG CONCEPTIONS  In some religions and beliefs, woman were thought of as an evil creature and therefore forbade marriage as to end corruption. Sadly some of the youth have embraced these ideas and therefore have deviated from the idea of marriage and moved away from creating strong Muslim families.  Some Muslims actually ignore and avoid marriage to totally devote their time to worship. This is a totally wrong conception as the prophet himself always encouraged marriage.

RIGHTS OF THE WIFES

THE RIGHTS OF THE HUSBAND

RIGHTEOUS SOCIETY

RRIGHTEOUS SOCIETY

BROTHERHOOD AND FRATERNITY  Free hearts from all envy and animosity in order to become true brothers.  There are no stronger bonds than the bonds of faith and no stronger faith than in Islam, therefore they are permanent features of the Muslims society.  When creating Brothers in Islam our love for one another also grows creating stronger and more united bonds between us.

THE PRINCIPAL VALUES  Congregation upon faith; an Islamic community is not a national community but rather an assembly of faith.  The call to good, the bidding of kindness and the prohibition of the unacceptable behavior.  Respect for good deeds; is something which an Islamic community aims towards. Whether it is praying, fasting, innovating, etc. all good deeds must be respected.  The virtue of character is confirmed in every aspect of life, and is protected from the eyes of evil.  Struggling in the cause of Allah in defending the right, and strengthening the good deeds.

SYMPATHY AND KINDNESS  Mutual sympathy and kindness is the fruit and main essence of brotherhood.  Mercy has to be show to the needy, poor, orphans, disabled and everyone who needs mercy really badly.  Since Muslims are kind to each other, Islam forbids taking advantage of the poor and exploitation of the poor by the stronger and richer ones of the society.  Sympathy and mercy in a society helps us become more cooperative thus making us an even more united society.

SELF-SUFFICIENCY AND SOLIDARITY  It is when the strong in our community help the weak stand, and the rich supports the poor, as so there is no weak nor unable to suffer in our society.  Self-sufficiency is material as well as spiritual needs, in order to keep a Muslim man protected from all areas.

CLEANLINESS AND DECENCY  Muslim society is all about decency and how the children are brought up in a clean and innocent environment.  It teaches men and women their place in society and also forbids them to cross the line between them.  However, Muslims are not a society of angels and are capable of making mistakes, yet they should keep it to themselves and not announce it and work on rectifying their mistakes by asking for forgiveness to ALLAH.

JUSTICE  The connections between people should be one of justice and lawful connections.  It is not only jkin religious facts, but also include social, economical and political relations. Therefore each transaction should be along the guidance that Allah has set for all Muslims

AIMS OF LIFE

RIGHTEOUS HUMANITY

LIBERATING MAN FROM WORSHIP OF MAN  The first principle of Islam is to believe completely in monotheism in all shapes and standards. Therefore, it makes man free from worshipping any other man or object.  Islam abolished the use of false Gods and ordered to worship only him without any partner or associate.  By giving authority only to Allah, no other man can control or enslave another man thus making his free.

BROTHERHOOD AND EQUALITY  All humans are servants to one creator and therefore making them all equal brothers in the eyes of Allah.  All humans are the children of one father – Adam – no matter how different we are – color, culture, language – we are still brothers.

JUSTICE TO ALL  Justice is not only for Muslims or Arab, however it is for all mankind, and each human being deserve justice and equality.  Allah commanded the believers to be just and bear witness for Allah’s sake, not with standing love for their near relatives, nor hatred for the outsiders, for love is above the emotions of love and hatred. They should stand for sake of Allah.

WORLD PEACE  Islam is known for the struggle for the sake of Allah and the religion itself, however, this struggle – Jihad – is not made by creating war and killing, but made by making people embracing Islam and creating world peace and love between mankind.  The word “WAR” itself was not liked for its ugliness and therefore was despised in Islam.

THE BASIC IDEA OF TOLERANCE  The belief of every Muslim in the dignity of man, no matter his creed, race or color.  The Muslim believe that the difference in creed is practical fact, as Allah has given the freedom of choice to people as what they want to do or not to do.  A Muslim is has no right as to judge someone on their faith or fidelity, nor to punish them for not believing.  A Muslim is equal with everyone Muslim or non Muslim.  The spirit of forgiveness is a sign of good co-existence, and kind transaction, and preservation of neighborly ties, and the spread of human feeling of mercy and goodness; and this is what is needed in daily life, and it cannot be substituted by law or the judiciary. And this spirit is almost non-existent is other than Islam.

TOLERANCE OF NON MUSLIMS  Tolerance of non Muslims is a must in order for the hate and fear to subside from them and therefore bring in love and compassion towards Muslims.  As for People of the Book – Christians and Jews – they have special treatment and certain transactions are lawful towards them, such as marrying their daughters.

RIGHTEOUS ECONOMY

A RIGHTEOUS ECONOMY IS BUILT BY A RIGHTEOUS STATE AND A RIGHTEOUS NATION RIGHTEOUS ECONOMY

Righteous Nation BELIEF IN THE NATION BASIC CHARACTERESTICS OF QURAN CHARACTERESTICS OF ARABISM NATIONALISM IN THE VIEW OF HASAN AL- BANNA

BELIEF IN THE NATION  A man always loves the people of his country, state or group and always takes efforts to ward off problems and troubles that comes towards them.  The love of a man for his group or family if comes in the path of his love for Allah then it is a problem.  A man’s respect and love for his family and society should never come in the way of his devotion, love and respect towards Allah.

BASIC CHARACTERISTICS OF QURAN

NATIONALISM IN THE VIEW OF HASAN AL-BANNA  Nationalism doesn’t mean protecting only your family, even if they are wrong.  It’s about being a part of the bigger community that is the Islamic community.  A Muslim man takes responsibility and priority over his group and over his good deed in order to progress further in his life.

CHARACTERISTICS OF ARABISM  Islamism and Arabism are not the same.  Islam has adopted most of the Arab tradition and thus for the Arab’s Islam is a part of their pride.  However, not all nations accepting Islam as their religion and thus they should embrace the Arab pride for it is not an must for them.

Righteous State

ISLAMIC CITATIONS Islamic rules or guardians should keep the trust and rule with justice, however if trust and justice are lost then it will end in the destruction of the nation. There are no doubts that it is forbidden for a Muslim to support any ruler who does not the regulations of the state according to the regulations of Islam. There are two ways to save a state from the unlawful ruling of a ruler; denial, either by heart or tongue or, continuous struggle in order to re-instate the Islamic law.

CITATION FROM HISTORICAL EVIDENCE As for the history of Islam, it reminds us that the Prophet (pbuh) aspired with all his might towards the established of a state for Islam, and a country for its call. An Imam himself is the symbol of the Islamic state and its emblem, and therefore Muslims have known a separation between religion and state, they have always been one in the same.

CITATION FROM THE NATURE OF ISLAM As for the nature of Islam and its mission, it is a universal religion that has comprehensive laws, and this of course runs through all aspects of life. Islam calls for a system to demarcate responsibilities and hates confusion and recklessness in everything to a very long extent. Islam is a way to organize human life through the guidance of Allah.

THE NEED FOR A STATE The human nature is one has must belong to a state, and therefore there is a major need when creating it. Other civilizations will allow there state to form however when it comes to Islam, they will stop it from being created, as they fear a strong Islamic state to come and dominate over them.
