Presentation transcript:

 Help out at a soup kitchen  Clean up a local park  Volunteer at a retirement center Wesley Homes

 I will help out at a toy distribution on Saturday Dec. 19 th, for at least five hours.  I will help tutor third graders at Hazelwood Elementary School almost every Wednesday for one hour.

 Tutoring: › I will go to Hazelwood almost every Wednesday for one hour and help the children with their homework. I will help them with any questions they have.  Toy Distribution: › I will go to Auburn High School at 7 am and spend at least five hours helping out. I will help pass out Christmas presents to parents who can’t afford to buy them for their kids.

 I will arrive at Hazelwood by three o’ clock, checking in and waiting for kids.  When the kids get there I will have them pull out their homework.  As the kids start their homework I will start answering their questions.  As they start to get done with their work I will give them an extra packet to work on or have them pull out a book to read.  As kids start to leave I will wait until the last kid leaves.  Once the kids leave I will help clean up any messes the kids might have created (picking up papers, rearranging tables, etc.)

 Arrive at Auburn High School around 7am to help set up.  Start sorting presents into groups depending on gender and age.  Once they open the doors, I will get a parent to help.  I will receive a card telling me how many children, what gender, and the age.  I will search in the piles for toys the kids will hopefully like.  Give the bag of gifts to the parent.  Get in line to help another parent (continue this process until the end).

 I was able to complete my goals. I was able to tutor and help the kids at Hazelwood. I believe they were happy I was there to answer their questions. I also did manage to get to Auburn High to help out with the toy distribution. I was able to help parents make their kid’s holidays happier.
