This is a fund raising event to help children fighting cancer and to help find a cure for childhood diseases and raise awareness for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Purpose

 All Runners/Volunteers must complete a medical form and waiver prior to participating in the run. Each runner commits to $750 minimum Run Waiver Due by June 13 th with $75 entry fee.  This $75 is part of your $750 commitment.  Taking runners until we are full. Do not wait!!  All Runners must be at least 18 years of age in order to participate.  Runners 16 years of age and older are allowed to participate with a parent/legal guardian. Participation Requirements

Washington Run History We have raised: 2008 = $54, = $83, = $103, = $116, = $162, = $182,000 Grand total $700,000

Logistics Date: Saturday, August 2, 2014 Times: 9:15- Volunteers arrive at Washington High School parking lot. 10:00- Runners arrive. 11:15- Approximate start time. 5:00 pm- Approximate arrival at Peoria Civic Center. Caterpillar parking lot.

Logistics Food –Subway - small sandwich and chips will be provided –Snacks- bananas and trail mix will be provided –If you want or need something different you can bring it Drinks –Water and Gatorade

Safety Highest priority is safety – Reflective vest We have some at $10 each or bring your own. Must be worn by everyone on run. Runners, volunteers, can shakers, drivers Nurses are available if needed. – First aid kits are available in the chase van & supply vehicle. For safety reasons, children are not allowed to participate in the Runner Parade.

Runner Expectations This is a charity run, Not a race Relay style run – run as much or as little as you want Each leg is between miles long 9-12 minute/mile pace (3 slow & 1 fast) New runner information is available Have Fun!

How do I raise $750+ ? Letter Writing- samples available – Letter head stationary & mailing envelopes (your return address on small envelope) s and facebook Matching gifts –To credit our Washington Run & Runner St. Jude On-line giving – Sign up instruction on website Go Door to Door for donations Employee &/or Consultant Sponsorship No individual fundraisers

Donations All donations received of $250 or more require a $250 tax form to be filled out and submitted to the St. Jude Run Office. The form is available on and can be mailed to the office or given to the Run Coordinator. Please turn in money as soon as you can to Dominic or Jack. Do not hold on to your donations for a long period of time. Please do not take your donations to the St Jude Run Office.

2014 Runner/Volunteer Waiver Medical Information Temporary License Plates Forms

After the Run - Gather as a Run group and receive shirts. - Immediately shower at the Civic Center or O’Brien Field and change into your run shirt. -Line up and walk into the Civic Center.  Only individuals that where on the run - Team dinner (Family/Friends welcome. It’s FREE and scrumptious!!) - Team picture at Civic Center (around 9 PM) - Check presentation on telethon (around 10:30 PM) - Rides are available back to Washington.

Peoria Marathon & River City Races Sunday, May 18 th,6:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Need volunteers at intersections To help with traffic control. Locations: 19 th mile marker 9 assigned intersections. We can collect $... “Can Shakers” for our run. Please bring your lawn chairs, a cooler of snacks, soda & water, some music, noise makers and pom poms to cheer on the runners and block the non-critical intersections of the route.
