EGI-InSPIRE RI Life sciences Support for genome analysis and protein folding Goals/Tasks: 1. Sanitize software within EGI (AppDB, VOs) 2. Identify and integrate relevant tools 3. Disseminate tools, services, support 12 Achievements: 1. Improved information and availability of 13 applications 2. Integration of 4 tool from the domain with EGI READemption (DE), Trufa (ES), Chipster (FI), RSTAT (FR) 3. Promotion - 1 webinar and at 3 face-to-face events Reaching approx. 100 scientists Members: 2 EGI Champions 3 NGIs 3 scientific communities Genomics Structural Biology Bioinformatics Proteomics

EGI-InSPIRE RI Platform for the long-tail National solutions exist in several countries. But there is need for –More consistent support across all countries –Simplified access to grid and cloud –More interactions between researchers and NGIs –Lower cost of operation Long-tail platform –User registration portal –Dedicated resources (grid and cloud) –Science gateways –New security mechanism: User-specific robot proxies Development started in October 2014 –Release in Spring

EGI-InSPIRE RI Integrating ELIXIR Reference Datasets into EGI Goals/Tasks: –Identify life science datasets suitable for replication in EGI –Extend Applications Database (AppDB) towards a dataset registry –Propose analysis tools to work with data replicas –Integration with the ELIXIR-BMB Registry Members: –EGI.eu, EUDAT, ELIXIR Hub + ELIXIR nodes of DK, GR, IT, PT, SI Achievements until now: 1.User survey identified 10 datasets for replication 7 potential replicator tools 2 example setups in the NGIs 2.Proposed database schema for AppDB extension 14

EGI-InSPIRE RI Expanding Competence Centres From flat to hierarchical structure –8 Competence Centres – with 8 ESFRIs –Joining effort from NGIs, communities, technology and service providers Ongoing and planned activities: –Community-specific evaluation of EGI Solutions: Cloud, AAI, Data, GPGPU –Community support (applications, gateways, training, consultancy) Next generation of RI CCs are emerging from national collaborations 15 ELIXIR BBMRI MoBrain (Instruct, WeNMR) LifeWatch EISCAT_3D EPOS Disaster mitigation Life sciencesEnv. sciences ELI ICOS ESS KM3NET DARIAH Humanities CLARIN LOFAR
