Nokia E50 Business Customer Training © Orange PCS all rights reserved contacts storing a contact in your memory you can store your colleagues and friends’ numbers in your memory to save time when calling people to add a new entry:  press the menu key  scroll to Contacts and select (press the navigation key in)  press Options (left soft key)  scroll to New Contact and select  type in the details of the new entry and press Done note - the handset will automatically store new entries in the contacts (phone) memory and not on the SIM card (you can access the SIM memory by pressing Options, then scrolling to SIM contacts, SIM directory)

Nokia E50 Business Customer Training © Orange PCS all rights reserved finding and editing contacts  from the start screen, press down on the joystick and this will highlight the Contacts icon (top left), you can now select Contacts or Add new contact (a short cut to adding new entries), press the joystick in to select  to find a contact, select Contacts, this will show you all of your stored entries  press the letter key corresponding to the first letter of the person you wish to find.  highlight the person you wish to call, using the joystick and press the call key select an entry and press Options (left soft key), and you will now see a list of options, including Open, Call, Create message, New contact, Edit, Delete, Duplicate, Mark/Unmark, Copy, Sim contacts, Send, Contacts info, Synchronisation and Settings  highlight the option you want and press Select (left soft key)  if you are editing a contact, change the details as desired, and then press Done (right soft key) to complete contacts

Nokia E50 Business Customer Training © Orange PCS all rights reserved copying contacts between memories you can copy names and numbers from your SIM Card memory, the phone’s memory or a memory card and back again (you can also delete one or more entries after copying)  to copy from the SIM, press the Menu key, scroll to Contacts and select (press the joystick in), then press Options  scroll to SIM contacts, then select SIM directory, this will show you all your SIM contacts  select Options, scroll to Mark/Unmark, select Mark all  all of your entries will appear with a ‘tick’ next to them, select Options, scroll to Copy to contacts and press select your numbers will now be in the phone contact memory - to delete or copy the entries again, select Mark all then Options and choose the relevant action contacts

Nokia E50 Business Customer Training © Orange PCS all rights reserved call features redialling previously called numbers to redial recent calls:  press the call key once  you will now see a list of Dialled numbers, press left/right to navigate to Rcvd. calls and Missed calls  scroll to the one you wish to redial and press the call key again choosing whether to answer a call when you receive a call the details will be displayed on the screen (if they are available) to answer a call press the talk key to reject a call press the end key. (this also ends a call when you have finished talking)

Nokia E50 Business Customer Training © Orange PCS all rights reserved call features call diverts you can divert calls from your phone to another number:  Press the menu key and scroll to Settings  scroll to Call divert  select Voice calls next select one of the call divert options from the following: All voice calls, If busy, If not answered, If out of reach, If not available  select Activate then decide either to send calls To voice mailbox or To another number if you select To another number either type in the number you want to divert calls to or use Find to select a number from your contact list - press the left soft key under OK to activate

Nokia E50 Business Customer Training © Orange PCS all rights reserved call features Everyphone call diverts you can also use Orange Everyphone to divert calls from your phone to another number (call 158 from your Orange phone and check that Everyphone has been activated for your account)  dial 330 from your Orange handset  enter your Orange number, followed by # you may then hear the following: ‘Because this is the first time you’ve called EveryPhone service you need to set up a pin number. This pin number will allow you to call EveryPhone from other phones as well as Orange. The pin must be 4 digits’ you can also access Everyphone by calling

Nokia E50 Business Customer Training © Orange PCS all rights reserved there are two ways to initiate a conference call - you can call individual conference members (shown below) or you can invite incoming callers to join your conference (next page) there is no charge for the conference calling service, outgoing calls to the conference are charged at your standard tariff rate per call and incoming calls are charged to the incoming caller at standard rates to set up a conference call by calling individual conference members:  once you are on a call select Options, then select New call  enter the number you wish to have in your conference or select Find  once that call is connected select Options, then select Conference  you can keep adding members (up to 5) using conference calling call features

Nokia E50 Business Customer Training © Orange PCS all rights reserved to use conference calling for incoming callers, firstly answer the call as normal, if they are the first member of the conference - if they are joining a conference call that is already established, then follow the steps below:  select Options, then select Hold  select Answer for the incoming call  once that call is connected select Options, then select Conference  you can keep adding members (up to 5) using conference calling (2) call features

Nokia E50 Business Customer Training © Orange PCS all rights reserved messaging reading your messages when you receive a new message, a number will appear next to the message icon on the home screen - highlight the message icon and the details of the message will be displayed (to read the message select Unread Messages with the joystick) to read messages already stored in your inbox:  press the menu key  Messaging will already be highlighted, so press joystick in to select  scroll to and select Inbox you will now see all the messages stored in your inbox - to read one, scroll to the message and select it - when reading the message, press Options for further functions – Reply, Forward, Delete, Call, and other choices

Nokia E50 Business Customer Training © Orange PCS all rights reserved messaging sending messages to start writing a new message:  press the menu key  Messages will already be highlighted, press joystick in to select  select New message  you will have the option to select Text message, Multimedia message or once you have selected the type of message you wish to send, you can access your contacts by pressing the navigation key in (press OK, after you have highlighted the recipients) - to change text input methods press the text input key or press the hash (#) key and to change from letter input to number input, press and hold the hash key (#). when you have finished writing you message, select Options and select Send - this will also give you further message functions

Nokia E50 Business Customer Training © Orange PCS all rights reserved Mail for Exchange the Mail for Exchange client is a piece of software that completes the installation of the Exchange functionality to your phone, allowing you to send and receive s etc. the Mail for Exchange client must be installed on your device before you can activate the service - the memory card supplied has the client pre-loaded (please make sure the memory card has been inserted)* info to be checked if you are an Orange Business customer, please check with your I.T. administrator before attempting to connect to this service, or if you have difficulty with locating the client alternatively, you can download the client from (please note that Orange are not responsible for the content of external sites) you may also require additional software that came in the box with your device Mail for Exchange client

Nokia E50 Business Customer Training © Orange PCS all rights reserved Mail for Exchange Mail for Exchange activation to install the client:  press the menu key, scroll to Installations and select (press joystick)  select install follow the on screen instructions to install the Mail for Exchange client once the installation is complete (you may need to complete this process in App Mgr, you will be screen prompted to do so) you then need to create a Mail for Exchange profile  press the Menu key, scroll to Installations, select Mail for Exchange  you will then be prompted to create a profile, select Yes you can now enter the Mail for Exchange information required Mail for Exchange activation

Nokia E50 Business Customer Training © Orange PCS all rights reserved Mail for Exchange Mail for Exchange settings (1) within the Mail for Exchange profile, you are required to enter information that is needed to begin the synchronisation process enter the Connection settings  select Exchange server then enter your server address  change Secure connection, Access point and Sync while roaming options as appropriate you may need to consult with your I.T. Support team for this information enter the Credentials settings  enter your Username, Password and Domain enter the Sync content settings  change Synchronise calendar, Synchronise , and In case of conflict as options appropriate

Nokia E50 Business Customer Training © Orange PCS all rights reserved Mail for Exchange Mail for Exchange settings (2) you can customise what is synchronised and how often for Mail for Exchange enter the Sync schedule settings  change Peak sync schedule and Off-peak sync schedule options as appropriate enter the Calendar settings  change Sync calendar back and Initial sync options as appropriate enter the Contacts settings  change Initial sync option as appropriate enter the settings  change address, Show new mail pop-up, use signature, Signature, When sending mail, Sync messages back options as appropriate

Nokia E50 Business Customer Training © Orange PCS all rights reserved Mail for Exchange Mail for Exchange profile once you have entered all the information needed, your profile will be saved, you can edit the settings at anytime select Options and you can:  Open the option that is highlighted  Synchronise to begin a synchronisation  Edit profile allows you change your profile settings  Delete profile allows you to delete your profile  Full resync allows you to perform a full synchronisation  View log allows you to access synchronisation information  Help opens the helps information

Nokia E50 Business Customer Training © Orange PCS all rights reserved Mail for Exchange Mail for Exchange s you can access your in a number of ways, you can use the Message icon on the home screen or you can press the menu key, then select Messages and scroll to Mail for Exchange  unread s are denoted by a closed yellow envelop  read s are denoted by an open blue envelop  use the joystick up and down to navigate to an  use the joystick right and left to navigate to different mail boxes (Inbox, My folders, Drafts, Orange , Sent, Outbox, Reports)  press the joystick in to read an  select Options for a range of tasks such as Reply, Forward, and Delete

Nokia E50 Business Customer Training © Orange PCS all rights reserved Mail for Exchange sending an to send an , navigate to your Mail for Exchange folder (you can also send an from a contact entry, if you have an address saved to them)  select Options, then scroll to Create message, then , then Mail for Exchange in the ‘To’ field you can enter the recipients address, press the joystick in to access your contacts (only contacts that have an address saved to them will be shown)  use the joystick to navigate to Subject, then to the main body of your  once you have composed your message select Options for a range of tasks such as Send and Sending Options  to save a message to drafts, select Close (right soft key), select Save to drafts

Nokia E50 Business Customer Training © Orange PCS all rights reserved Mail for Exchange attachments and meeting invites when you receive an that contains an attachment, a paperclip symbol is shown on the right hand side of the list within the Mail for Exchange inbox - when you open an that contains an attachment, a paperclip is shown in the information bar at the top of the screen  to view an attachment select Options, then Attachments  highlight the attachment you wish to view, select Options, then Fetch  once the attachment has downloaded, select Options, then Open  select Options for a range of tasks such as Zoom and Save when you receive a meeting invite request, it will appear into you folder as an (with a calendar icon), when you open a meeting invite, the details will be displayed, you can reply as if it were a regular message

Nokia E50 Business Customer Training © Orange PCS all rights reserved Mail for Exchange calendar the calendar on your device will automatically synchronise with the calendar on your server - to access your calendar, you can use the calendar icon on the home screen, or press the menu key - Organiser - Calendar you will see your month view, from here select Options to;  Open, which will allow you to view the highlighted day/meeting and details  New entry allows you to create a Meeting, Memo, Anniversary or To-do  Month view change the view to a month view  Week view changes the view to week view  To-do view changes the view to to-do view  Delete entry, which allows you to delete by date or all entries  Go to date, which allows you to access your diary for a specific date  Settings allows you to change your calendar settings if you create an appointment or meeting on your device, it will automatically appear in your calendar on your server (if it is set to do so)
