ABOUT SCIP the purpose of the foundation of SCIP The Sumgait Chemical Industrial Park and its managing organization the Sumgait Chemical Industrial Park LLC were established under the Decree №548 dated December 21, 2011 of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

On November 22-nd, 1949 – By the decision of the Board of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of Azerbaijan Sumgait was given a status of city; Area – 83km 2 ; Population – 358,000; During the USSR up to the end of 1980-s more than 40% of petrochemicals were produced in Sumgait.
