What is the Fire Enterprise Geospatial Portal? Fire Enterprise Geospatial Portal (EGP) is the authoritative source of standardized geospatial information for the full range of wildfire activities ranging from readiness, response to planning. Fire EGP leverages multiple sources of spatial data for mapping, decision support, business intelligence, and situational awareness through tools and view states.

What is the Fire EGP used for? The Fire EGP is a web based interface that allows you to learn information about an incident geospatially. In other words, you can find the fire you are interested in on the map, click it and learn things like: Size Containment Ownership Perimeter Hot Spots (MODIS & VIIRS) Historical Fire Occurrence Fire weather, etc … Locate Fires close to you by utilizing your current location either via or Mobile Device or physical location (Laptop/Desktop)
External EGP
Two types of Fire EGP There is a Public or External EGP and a Internal EGP for Agency use. They can both be accessed through: The Public side is accessed by anyone and without a password by navigating to or clicking the “Wildfire Maps” button in the National Fire Situational Awareness box. The Agency EGP can be accessed with an account and password on the log in screen below that. An account can be obtained by requesting it from this main screen as well.

Public EGP A great tool for the public to use to find incident information and incidents near them. Will be linked to INCIWEB with the next version. A great tool for PIOs to use to brief in public meetings. Holds a limited amount of incident information that has been approved for the public to see. Location Size Latest perimeter map Containment Hot spots (MODIS) Has a link to the daily Incident Management Situation Report (Sit report).
Agency EGP Requires an account and password. Intended for use by NIFC’s partner agencies, state and local partners, and other authorized viewers. Holds a wide variety of incident information including, but not limited to: ROSS information Incident cost Resource locations Incident IAP maps Job Codes, etc. BLM Lightning (Coming Soon) AFF (Coming Soon)
