MediaSite vs. AuthorPoint How do MediaSite and AuthorPoint compare? By: Catalina Ramirez CPCC Instructional Developer

MediaSite at CPCC You present, while the technology synchronizes what you say with your visual aids and instantly streams both over the internet. Others watch your presentation online through the CPCC Intranet at their convenience, either live or on-demand.

MediaSite minimum requirements: The MediaSite hardware equipment Video camera Microphone Computer for the Presenter Internet connection(s) if presentation is live or as visual aid.

AuthorPoint at CPCC horpoint/index.htm Instantly creates synchronized multimedia presentations from PowerPoint. Makes your PowerPoint files richer with your audio/video. Distributes the presentation over the internet.

AuthorPoint minimum requirements: A PowerPoint presentation Computer Computer Mic Web cam AuthorPoint software installed on your computer

MediaSite vs. AuthorPoint MediaSite can only be seen using the CPCC Intranet. It captures any presentation aid you have on your computer screen. Requires an Instructional Developer to set and record the session. AuthorPoint Presentations can be seen using the Internet. Can only be used for PowerPoint presentations. Easy usability and set up. Anyone can set-up and record a session by themselves.
