Roe Lee Park School Newsletter July PTO for more info Fantastic Friday – Friday 14 th March 2014 Children who are on packed lunch or home dinners during the week have the option of having a school dinner on a Friday. This is at a cost of £1.90. The menu is: Lamb burger with chips, jacket potato, sweetcorn, and ice lolly. Week 3 menu will be served next week. Friday 7 th March 2014 Newsletter To be ready for : 14 th March 2014 Please talk to your child about the topic for their class. They will be writing about it on Friday and your discussions will really help. You could talk about the great ideas and words that they could use. Thank you. ReceptionDetails to follow Year 1 What do you know about RSPCA? Talk to an adult and try to research to find out more. Year 2 You are going to write your own animal story. Talk to a grown up about what animal you can write about. What does it look like? Where does it live? What might go wrong? What will happen in the end? Year 3 You will be writing a diary entry from the point of view of Theseus. Talk to a grown up about what he did in the story and how he might be feeling. Year 4 Imagine you are going to have an opportunity to interview a child from India. Talk about what you would like to ask them. Year 5 Talk to your adult about the visitors that came on Friday. Discuss the activities you did in class and the new things you learned about. Year 6Discuss your theme park homework ideas. Explain clearly why you have chosen the design you have. Talk Homework: We feel that this is a really valuable activity and has a very positive impact on the quality of the ‘Friday Write’. There is no need to do any writing or bring in any paperwork. Thank you to all the parents who came to school and shared a story on World Book day. I hope you enjoyed it as much as our children did. Thank you once again. St Joseph’s Penny boxes Your child will be bringing home a ‘St Joseph’s Penny Collection’ box. This charity is run by Caritas Diocese of Salford to raise money to help local people in need. Boxes should be returned to school by 19 th March All donations are greatly appreciated. Thank you to all the parents who attended Parents’ Evening. It was lovely to see so many of you.
