6 HISTORY 1960sU.S. Army Corps of Engineers announces flood control project for Trinity River in Fort Worth. 1969Concerned citizens invite Lawrence Halprin to visit Fort Worth. Downtown Fort Worth, Inc’s. Downtown Public Art Plan recommends relocation of the sculpture to an appropriate site with better pedestrian access. 2008Burnett Foundation and Texas Christian University discuss relocating the sculpture to Tandy Hall (Tandy School of Business). Fort Worth Art Commission holds two public hearings on proposed relocation to TCU with the City of Fort Worth retaining ownership. Parks and Community Services Advisory Board and Fort Worth Art Commission recommend relocation to TCU. Burnett Foundation pledges relocation funds. 2009City negotiates long term artwork loan and easement agreement. Burnett Foundation pledges to fund three years of maintenance. Unified Art Services selected as art handler. RELOCATION PROCESS

20 M&C C Accept a $30,000 grant from the Burnett Foundation for all costs associated with relocating the sculpture. Accept a $3,000 grant from the Burnett Foundation for maintenance of the sculpture for three years. Enter into an Artwork Loan Agreement with Texas Christian University. Authorize a contract in an amount of $30,000 with Unified Art Services to relocate the sculpture. REQUESTED ACTION
