The website, YouTube.com, was launched on February 14 th, 2005.
Today, there are 1 billion users on YouTube, and the site generates hundreds of thousands of views per day. It is the currently the #1 most visited site for video content online.
In a world where “likes” dictate popularity, YouTube “likes” and “views” dictate that, plus so much more.
The YouTuber earns a percentage of the ads that appear before and during their videos. More views = more ads shown= more money on that video.
Frustrated with the lack of creative outlets to express themselves, many people turned to YouTube to broadcast their interests and hobbies.
