Outline Runs from January 2013-January 2014 To evaluate potential of iTunes U platform for FE sector in Wales Focus on staff development resources, sharing best practice and dissemination Working closely with Learning Wales and other WG initiatives

iTunes U Free educational repository via Apple’s iTunes software Over 2500 educational institutions sharing Over 1 billion downloads (Feb 2013) Assets as video, audio or eBook (iBook or pdf) Courses on iOS provide greatest pedagogic benefit Platform behind Hwb/Education Wales

Asset creation Limited existing resources Some resources created through acquired services Most resources created in order to fulfill project objectives

Breadth of resources To be used to evaluate iTunes U as a staff development tool To be used to disseminate and share best practice To be used as a marketing communications tool by organisations

Evaluation Process Working closely with volunteer colleges to test delivery of staff development through the platform Surveys to be distributed to assess opinions, accessibility issues and benefits of platform Case studies to be written with colleges already engaged with platform Open forum for feedback and ideas for development
