GfK NOP PRC Author Rights 2008November 2008 Business 4 Background, Objectives & Methodology  The overall purpose of this research is to obtain feedback from end users on how they want to use their published research articles, and determine to what extent author perceptions of usage vary to publisher permissions.  Journal authors were contacted online to obtain feedback on how they want to use the various versions of their articles, the frequency of this use and relative importance of different forms of usage.  The study aims also to determine to what extent researchers believe that copyright law or the licence to publish is preventing them from re-using their research articles.  The results presented here are the key findings from a diverse range of respondents in terms of geography, subject and age.  Journal Authors were sent an invitation to participate in the online survey which was conducted in English during October  Total number of complete interviews: 1,163
