“Save As” 1.To the I drive 2.With your LastName FirstrName at the beginning of the file name. (ex. - Hurlow Dan Links.ppt) Go to the next slide

To view these directions and to test your work on slides 13, 16, & 14 – View in “Slide Show View”. Click the Slideshow Button NOW! Not on this picture – in the PowerPoint Program! Hit the escape key to exit slideshow.

(A Link can take you to a web page, another slide in the PowerPoint, another document or file, or an address.)

First select the object that you want to put a hyperlink on. To put a hyperlink on a text box, picture, Word Art, text within a text box, or a text box:

Click the hyperlink button and this window will appear.. (It may be hidden until you use the first time )

You can Link to a - web page another document or file, a slide in this PowerPoint an address

Your games will use links to a “Place in this Document”. You will select the specific slide. (NOT first, last etc..)

To test your links you must be in Slide Show View

When in Slide Show view your cursor will change when you pass over the linked object.

Did the curser change to a pointing hand?

Hit the Esc Key (if you were viewing in Slideshow view) Then go to the next slide

Fix the links on slides to take you to the right slide. Games with a Right and Wrong answer (The student selects the answer) You need three slides per question, one with question, one with correct, and one with incorrect response.

= 12 Click the Correct answer. Put a link on each answer so you are taken to the page that matches that answer ?

Put a link on “Try Again” text to take you BACK to the question.

NEXT Put a link “NEXT” text to take you to the next question. (slide 16)

= 43 Click the Correct answer. Put a link on each answer so you are taken to the page that matches that answer ?

Put a link on “Try Again” text to take you BACK to the question.

NEXT Put a link “NEXT” text to take you to the slide 19.

Hit the Esc Key (if you were viewing in Slideshow view) Then go to the next slide

Some Games are like a story – The student clicks something to move to the next page or hear sounds. (For some stories you may need it to just play all the story automatically – links would not be used in that case, only custom animation)

For Stories you will FIRST need to add narration to each individual slide. Then you add links as way for the student to move through the story. It is best to hide the Next button until the narration finishes.

On the following slides – Go to Slide Show>Slide Transition Remove the “On Click” & “Automatically after” check marks. These are usually the default settings for transitions and will need to be removed from all your slides. (unless you have pages that you want to automatically advance)

On the following slides – Go to Slide Show>Slide Transition Make the button appear AFTER the voice stops. ADD link to the button that goes to next slide

All of the animals were in a meeting.

They were talking about the sick frog.

Four brave animals wanted to help.

PowerPoint Picture Editing Toolbar Edit a picture already inserted into a document.

In PowerPoint, Word, and Excel there is a picture editor which is very useful to do basic editing when inserting pictures.

First you must insert a picture into the PowerPoint, Word, or Excel document. When you click on a picture you should see the “Picture Editing Toolbar” appear.

The toolbar will either be floating or It might appear at the top with all the other toolbars.

If you cannot find it right click on the picture and select “Show Picture Toolbar”.

This toolbar is useful when a picture has a boarder you wish to hide.

Click on the picture and find the toolbar.

On the toolbar click the “Set Transparent Color” tool. Click on the color you wish to make transparent.

Click the white boarder and it should disappear.

If the color is a solid color it will hide well. If the color or picture is not clear you may not get good results.

This toolbar is can do other editing.
