Background and Purpose of FICSI Food Industry Capacity & Skill Initiative (FICSI) is a Not-for-Profit Organization, registered under the Societies Registration Act, The Council has been promoted by the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) with financial support by National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC). Became functional in end Food Industry Capacity & Skill Initiative (FICSI) is an effort to support development of manpower in the Food Processing Sector at all levels to achieve growth and enhanced productivity at an individual, organizational and sectoral level. It is our attempt to understand manpower development requirements within the sector through regular interactions with employers, employees, intermediaries and other stakeholders and develop necessary and appropriate capabilities, products and services that support development of a solution providing ecosystem to the sector are being developed. FICSI is working with the government, industry, employers’ associations, training providers, consultants, assessing bodies and other national and international bodies to ensure that we make the Food Processing Sector a leading choice for employment and career.

Governing Body Structure FICSI GOVERNING COUNCIL: FICSI Governing Board is chaired by Mr. Siraj Azmat Chaudhry, Chairman, Cargill India Pvt. Ltd. Other esteemed industry representatives are from organizations such as Hindustan Unilever, ITC Ltd., Mondelez India, Marico, Nestle, Coca Cola, Hind Agro, Amalgam Foods Nominees from MOFPI, FSSAI, ICAR, Rabo Equity Advisors(NSDC Nominee), CIFTI and FICCI There are separate committees for NOS_QP Development, Finance, HR, Marketing. Forming sub- committees for all sub-sectors of members from Medium and small scale for enhanced outreach

FICSI has signed MOUs with AIFPA, ASFT(Association of Food Scientists and Technologists), Naveen Agro, etc, MOU also with UK Food and Drink Sector Skill Council 40 Training partners and 124 Training centers in 22 states across India. Some Major training partners are ASSOCOM India, REEP Trust, MITCON, Yashswi Skills Academy, Mahadev Education, Sahaj e-village, Bridge Point Skills and Network Pvt.
