Objectives The Student will… Develop speed, accuracy, language, proper formatting and proofreading techniques. (Keyboarding Comp. 4) Using technology apply budgeting techniques that involve planning for transportation, housing, insurance, and leisure expenses. (Personal Finance Comp. 4) Develop basic skills associated with word processing, presentation, & spreadsheet applications. (Computer Applications Comp 2, 4, & 5) Identify and demonstrate an understanding of the Internet and World Wide Web. (Web Page Design Comp. 1) Use technology to enhance the effectiveness of communications. (Business Communications Comp. 3)

Check the address; and make sure you typed it correctly. before you raise your hand to say it doesn’t work. Type the entire selection. Once you are finished hit the “Test Me” button. Raise your hand and be noticed for recording of your WPM. (Adjusted WPM) Develop speed, accuracy, language, proper formatting and proofreading techniques. (Keyboarding Comp. 4)

Use the Internet & PowerPoint to plan a vacation. Use only factual information that can be linked/retraced. Using the Internet plan a vacation out of Mississippi. You have a budget of $ for one person; $ for two people. You must include slides & expenses for the following…  Transportation (Gas to & from Airport, train station, or bus station; price of tickets; rental car, city bus fare, etc.)  Hotel (How many nights X Price per night)  Food (Include restaurant logos, prices for meals, links to websites)  Entertainment/Sight Seeing Tell why you chose the location on the final slide. Include wordart, pictures, text, links, etc. Cite all of your sources; especially the websites you used to estimate prices.

Creating a budget in Microsoft Excel Using Microsoft Excel, enter the data exactly as it appears on the right side of the screen. We will find the ending balance together! On Your Own Copy the contents to spreadsheet 2 and enter information for your trip in the numeric column. Repeat the steps we took to find the ending balance.

Write a Check to Pay for your Hotel; Using the Internet search for a blank check; fill it in using PowerPoint.

Label the Parts of a Credit Card; Create your own credit card using PowerPoint

Using PowerPoint to create Graphics Using PowerPoint, create a ticket to your destination. Include wordart, text, pictures, Internet pictures etc.

Using Microsoft Word & Create a Calendar for the month of your vacation. Place graphics on the dates of your vacation. In Microsoft Word create a tentative agenda for each day of your vacation. Type a paragraph that gives a brief history of your vacation spot. Cite your source. Type a grammatically correct paragraph with five or more sentences that explain why you chose this location as your vacation spot. Are you taking anyone with you on vacation? How long is your vacation? Did you see all you wanted to see in the time allotted? Did you have any money left over? Were there free museums (etc.) that you could visit?
