OpenLogbook: Why? ● The Problem: – How to know what parts of available data will be significant later? ● A Simple Solution: Save everything ● Another problem: – How to find interesting parts of the data? ● The Solution: OpenLogbook

OpenLogbook: How? ● Simultaneous playback of multiple data streams synchronized to a main Timeline ● Indexing of the data through Hotspots – Either during the experiment, or... – afterwards when reviewing the data. ● NOTICE: DAQ is not controlled by OpenLogbook! (at least not yet)

Results of Summer 2003 ● Recording of audio and video with OpenLogbook ● Networking functionalities: – Creating hotspots from remote computers... – Adding content (such as images) from remote computers... –...through an extensible plug-in based server architecture. ● Some minor usability etc. enhancements
