Presentation transcript:

Southeastern Louisiana University Enrollment: 1200/yr Problem: 30% success rate

 Changes in Lecture Sessions  Focus is on reviewing the “big picture”  Faculty cannot avoid the fact that this course is delivered in an online environment.  Creation of “instructor notes”  Compressed time for lecture means faculty must be very prepared and very “to-the-point” to explain the most material with just a few examples.

 New duties in our MTLC Faculty act as the manager of what should be a smooth operation.  Timely tutoring  Ingress and egress without backup  Keeping students and tutors on task  Minimal distractions Faculty need to recognize that their lab time is equally as important as their time in the classroom.

 Very strong administrative support Expansion of redesign – courses Expansion of redesign – facilities Internal match to Board of Regents grant Coordinator release time  NCAT C 2 R Program Recognition of national initiative Statistical support

 Ongoing activities Bring more and more faculty onboard as time passes Conduct faculty meetings to share statistics, methods, problems and solutions
