Reduce Reduce Use less of everything. Like, if you are not in the room and the light is on, you can Reduce the amount of electricity we use everyday by turning off the light. You also have to pay for electricity because of your power bill.

Re-use Re-use You clean or fix it up and use it again. For example, clean up a yogurt container and plant a plant in it or put your money or things in it.

Recycle Recycle Turn it into something useful. Like, a glass bottle. You put it in the Recycling bin and they turn it into another glass bottle or a glass window. You can also Recycle paper. Paper goes through these big machines and they turn into new paper.

Repair Repair Fixing it up and using it again. For example, you can repair clothes and use them again. You can also put your old clothes in the clothing bin for other people to use your clothes. It will just be a waste if you put it in the bin!

Landfills Landfills When you throw your rubbish instead of putting it in the recycling bin, your rubbish goes in a landfill where all the rubbish goes. Landfills are wholes in the ground, and that's where the rubbish goes. Most of it stays there forever, and it kills the plants. Plastic bags take 500 years to break down, and when 500 years have past, the little pieces of plastic bags sink into soil and kill the plants. So please, stop littering and save NZ.

Recycling Bins Recycling Bins Recycling Bins are bins that help the environment. They help the environment by Recycling instead of littering the environment. But not everything can be recycled. All the things you put in the recycling bin is not waste. All the things you put in the recycling bin turns into useful things.

Rubbish and Trash Rubbish and Trash Rubbish and trash is polluting New Zealand. The trash that you throw in the rubbish bin transfers and goes to a landfill. But if you put in the recycling bin, the things you throw in the recycling bin will turn into new and useful things for people to use. And don’t worry, they cleaned the things you used!
