ACHIEVEMENTS OF THE REPUBLIC OF MACEDONIA

 Refrigerants Management Plan (RMP) in Republic of Macedonia; Project implemented  Terminal Phase-out Management Plan (TPMP) in Republic of Macedonia; Project implemented  HCFC-Survey; on going Project

 Components :  Improvement of legislation.  Training of service technicians.  Training of Customs officers.  Recovery and Recycling scheme:  - Establishing of three recycling centers.  - Providing of R&R equipment for service-shops.  - Providing of refrigerant-identifying equipment for Customs authorities

 Two training centers where established at: -Mechanical faculty in Skopje, and -Technical faculty in Bitola  For the purposes of the training, Training Manual was prepared according UNEP- edition “Good practice in refrigeration”.  The training was organized as two-day course with theoretical and practical part.  The training courses took place in the period  268 participants passed the course. 

 Training Manual for Customs officers was prepared by National Experts.  Aims of the training were: -Introduction of the Customs officers in recognition of ODSs. -Introduction in obligations according MP and their Amendments. -stopping the illegal trade with ODSs.  The training was executed as one-day course.  The courses took place in Skopje and Bitola.

297 Customs officers passed the Course.  Six sets of electronic refrigerant identifiers were distributed to the borders entry-points.  Additional training in practical using of identifiers was organized after delivery of equipment.

 Three Recycling Centers were established and equipped.  109 sets of R&R equipment were delivered to service shops  Result – recovered quantities (kg):  YearCFCsHCFC-22HFCsBlendsTotal Total

 Components :  Improvement of legislation.  Training of trainers – professors from secondary vocational schools.  Training of service technicians.  Training of Customs officers.  Recovery and Recycling scheme: - Providing of R&R equipment for service-shops. - Providing of refrigerant-identifying equipment for Customs authorities.

 24 professors from 10 secondary vocational schools were trained at three-day course.  For the purposes of the training, Training Manual was prepared according UNEP-edition “Good practice in refrigeration”.  All schools were awarded with equipment for practical part of their educational process (5 educational refrigerant units, 10 R&R sets, tools…)

 The training was organized as two-day course with theoretical and practical part.  12 training courses took place in Skopje, Gostivar, Bitola, Ohrid, Stip, Kavadarci and Strumica.  216 service technicians attended the training.

 5 Training courses took place in Tabanovce(borders entry point), Bogorodica(borders entry point), Bitpla, Stip and Skopje.  103 Customs officers passed the training.  New 6 Refrigerant leek-detectors- identifiers are provided for Macedonian Customs.

 47 Sets of R&R equipment were provided.  39 Sets of R&R equipment are delivered (10 for secondary vocational schools and 29 for service shops).  Total quantity of recovered refrigerants in the year 2007 is kg.

 Estimation of installed quantities of HCFCs in Republic of Macedonia -Collection data of installed quantities of HCFCs in the: industry, commercial sector, central air-conditioning, domestic appliances and home air-conditioning. - Source – direct contacts with: users, service – technicians, statistic annual publications. -Collection data of import of equipment containing HCFCs in the several last years. - Source – Customs Administration, importers of equipment, NOU- by the import permits system, started  Annual consumption of HCFCs in Republic of Macedonia -Collection data of import of HCFC-substances in the several last years. Source – Customs Administration, importers, service-shops.  Foreseen of annual consumption in the year 2010 (freezing)
