Why is TechFuture so important? TechFuture aims to address some of the biggest challenges facing employers today and in the future, including: A United Vision - 50,000 students and 10,000 teachers in over 5,000 schools by 2020 Changing the gender imbalance in the tech sector Increasing the future talent pipeline Equipping teachers with the tools to deliver an inspiring and relevant experience for students

The Tech Partnership Badge Academy is where students can discover what skills are most desired by Tech businesses today. All badges are supported and endorsed by employers and cover range of digital, technical, employability and creative skills

Or a cluster of badges representing a desirable skill set, that can be certified by multiple employers Employers can create an individual badge to convey an important skill for industry Threats EncryptionOnline Safety Digital Footprint HackingSocial Engineering

Badge library clusters badges into skills areas Key areas: Cyber security Digital and Technical Skills Design and Creative Skills Employability Skills

When students earn Tech Partnership Open Badges they provide evidence of their skills, endorsed by employers Evidence is submitted Evidence is verified Skills are endorsed Badges are shared Badge Awarding New system of verification means many badges can be gained without requiring teachers to verify through e-learning modules and knowledge check assessments – designated by the red icon on the badge

Value for employers in recruitment Employers can see young people’s achievements in skills areas that are valued across industry Employer badges can be a valuable tool in recruitment and help track impact of programmes and interventions For recruitment for Apprenticeships, badges can be used as additional evidence of young people’s skills in addition to qualifications For recruitment from Universities, employer badges from linked employers can help them get jobs with local firms, and show additional skills.
