Role of UCLC Service provider to UCL on non-profit basis Mostly responsive, led by academics For larger “cross-faculty” opportunities where not Research or OVPR-led –Increasingly the UCL proposal lead liaise with possible UCL academics and possible consortium lead –Sometimes consortium lead –Project Management ( chargeable service at day rate) Consulting with experts 6
What are we doing? Strategic focus on government departments, arms- length bodies where open tenders are issued E.g. DfID, FCO, UN, World Bank, NGOs Monitor and progress feeds- currently 121 opportunities in the funnel Currently working with several cross-department teams on bids –Also multiple external consultants as consortium leads Consulting with experts 7
