Exams Summer 2016  START on APRIL 18 TH with Art exams  FINISH on JUNE 20 th with Further Maths  No study leave until JUNE 23 rd you will be expected to be in lessons until the final exam.  If you have finished the exam in your lesson, you will have time to revise for other subjects and you will have organised revision sessions for particular subjects. 

Factors affecting exam performance:  Subject knowledge using PLC’s– You need to know what you need to know. If you don’t, FIND OUT!  Exam preparation and PRACTICE, PRACTICE, PRACTICE  Attitude and mindset – Whether you think you can or think you can’t, you’re probably right!  Energy levels and health – Be ready and take care of yourself!

SUCCESS =  1% inspiration  99% perspiration YOU HAVE TO WORK for it!

Attributes of a Positive Attitude:  Good energy habits – getting ‘stuck in’  Celebrating small victories – this is a marathon  Shared challenge – you are ALL in this together  Visualise the outcome – brown envelope with SUCCESS written all over it!  Personally proud of your individual accomplishments  Being in ‘the zone’

Exam Prep:  Start final exam prep 8 weeks prior to exams  Study between 2 – 4 subjects per day  Exam prep should include: 5 mins set up 30 mins revise / review / apply 5 mins break – move, breathe, snack, toilet REPEAT You can do 3 cycles in 2 hrs or 4 cycles in 2hrs 40mins

Exam Prep: Cycle = 1 x revise OR 1 x review OR 1 x apply You can do 3 cycles in 2 hrs OR 4 cycles in 2hrs 40mins Examples: START 3:30pm / FINISH 5:30pm or 6:10pm = rest of the night START 7:00pm / FINISH 9:00pm or 9:40pm = a bit of time before bed START 1:30 / FINISH 2:00pm = only 2 cycles for later ** After-school revision sessions count & homework that is revision counts**
