 11 African countries met this first Millennium Development Goal* to bring hunger under control 5 years ahead of deadline  Algeria, Algona, Benin, Cameroon, Dijouti, Ghana, Malawi, Niger, Nigeria, Sao Tome and Principe, Togo  Reduced half the proportion of starving people  Between the years 1990 and 2015  Only country where number has gone up *According to UN Food and Agricultural Organization (FAO):
