Creating Interactive Polls With Photos July 2009

STEP 1: Upload Picture Enter as Room Administrator Click on Room you will use for Polling. Click on Content tab Click on Default Content folder Upload your photo – must be JPG or GIF Make sure the “Display this content in E-board” is UNCHECKED. Click Add NOTE: If within Bb, WebCt or Moodle, you will click on your room, then the manage content feature depending upon your LMS.

STEP 2: Create Poll Create a Poll folder by clicking on New Folder Once created, click on Poll. Click on New Content which will bring you to this page. Select the type of poll you wish to create. For this example, we chose multiple choice. Click on Create.

STEP 3: Create Polling Questions Title your poll. Type in the question and participant instructions. Add response choices Clear participant instructions as this is where you will post your photo Complete the rest of the poll. Remember to Save Changes when you finish creating the poll.

STEP 4: Copy Photo Open picture after loading by left clicking on it. Then RIGHT click on photo to bring up the box at right. Click on Properties You will need to copy the URL address to paste in your poll.

STEP 5: Adding Photo In the Participant instructions section – paste your photo URL you had copied. Then at the front end of it type in: <img src=“ And at the end type in: ”> Click Save Changes

STEP 6: Preview After you Save Changes, you will return to the Folder Screen. Left Click on your poll to preview it. And see the results!
