Animal Habitats Ms. Kaye - 3rd Grade ESL class - Life Science What is a habitat? Tundra Ocean Quiz Desert Resources

What is a habitat? A habitat is something that can provide shelter for a person or animal (think of a house where a person or animal lives). There are several habitats that an animal can live in: such as ocean, desert or tundra.

Ocean The ocean is a large body of salt water. Some words to describe it are: wet and water. Animals that live in the ocean need to breathe in the water. A dolphin, whale and fish all live in the ocean.

Desert The desert is very hot and dry (unlike the ocean). Animals that call the desert home include a lizard, snake, and scorpion. The plants that you can find in the desert are cactus because they need very little water.

Tundra Tundra is cold, icy and can be frozen. Animals found living in the tundra can be bear and elk.

Quiz What habitat does the scorpion mostly live in? Desert Forest Ocean Tundra 2. The tundra habitat can be described best as: Hot Dry Cold Wet

Good Job The scorpion along with the snake live in the hot desert.

Good Job The tundra is cold and icy and elk and polar bears like it there.

Try Again Think about what type of temperature the scorpion would do best in.
