WE AND THE GAME WE AND THE GAME All of us, boys and girls, we have the right to play, to rest and have some free time. At school we like to play in the yard during recess because we are all friends.

RULES Required materials: a handkerchief or a bandanna. Number of players: at least 5 players per team, but most there are more fun is the game. Schedule: one player takes the handkerchief hanging and holding tight with your fingers to the ends with the arm forward. The others are divided into two groups and each participant is assigned a number, until the maximum number of players. All participants, divided into two teams, lined up at a certain distance, the center should be about holding the flag. The No. 1 player should be in front of their opposing team's No. 1 on the opposite side. The player holding the flag in the center must say a number at random and the two players have to take that number and take the flag. If one takes, it must run away to his post, but if it is touched by the opponent in this way, the point goes to the other team Conclusion: The team that is able to take the flag several times and thus earning more points.

Pentovola (5 marbles) A game that demands skillfulness. It’s played with 5 equally small pebbles or small stones. Children drop the pebbles in the air and whoever catches more with their palm starts the game. Using the thumb and the index of the left hand, the player makes an arch and, putting the right hand downwards behind the forearm of the left, leaves the 5 pebbles. He or she takes one, throws it up in the air and catches it again, after pushing the 5 pebbles down the arch, one by one, two by two, one-three and all 4 together in the end. Then comes the second higher level where the players have to move the pebbles in one move.Every time they have to catch the main pebble in the air. If they touch a pebble that isn’t its turn to pass or if the main pebble falls, another child goes on. Every time a player plays, they have to start from where they lost before. The winner will be the first to complete all rounds they have agreed on.

Geroylia (a kind of hopscotch) Younger and older children play this game with a stone by shaping 4-5 contiguous circles or rectagunlars or combinations of shapes and lines in the yards or on the ground. They start the game based on who manages to throw their stone in concentric semicircles they make in the farthest “gerouli”. Each player has to put their stone in all circles or rectangulars one by one and then take it back while returning in hopscotch. Neither their feet nor their stone must touch the lines. On a following round they have to move the stone pushing with their foot while hopscotching. Each time the stone comes out of the patterns, it has to be stepped upon. In a following round the player passes through the patterns without stepping on the lines and wins. Every time a player loses, another one continues from the point they had lost before.

Monkey game – Jogo da macaca Number of Participants: 6 to 12 players With a piece of chalk we draw the female monkey on the ground. Then we throw the stone on the drawing in the first “house”. We jump with one foot on this drawing. We have to jump on the drawing where the stone is. We collect the stone and step on all the other “houses”. Whenever you miss the target when throwing the stone you are out of the game. Jogo da Corrida de Sacos - The Bags Race Game Number of Participants: two or more The children put themselves inside bags and run. Wins the first who arrives to the finishing line.

Jogo da Malha - The Mesh Game Number of Participants: 2 teams (2 players each) Put the bolts on a plain playground in the same direction (in about 15/18 meters’ distance between each other). Each team puts itself behind the bolt. Teams play by turns. The main goal is to drop or to place the dish the nearest to the bolt throwing it only with one hand. Punctuation: 6 points each drop; 3 points for the nearest dish. Wins the team that achieves 30 points. 3 parts compose the game; to win one team shall win 2 of the 3 parts. Andas (Stilts) Walking on stilts you can do races of stilt runners. Trying to keep your balance is a tough task.
