Policy Context NHSE Five Year Forward View “We need to engage with communities and citizens in new ways, involving them directly in decisions about the future of health and care services…creating new options for health related volunteering. Volunteers are crucial in both health and social care” The Care Act The core purpose of adult care and support is to help people to achieve the outcomes that matter to them in their life. Local authorities must promote wellbeing when carrying out any of their care and support functions in respect of a person. (The Care Act, 2014)

#I Will Campaign #iwill is a national campaign that aims to make social action part of life for as many 10 to 20 year-olds as possible by the year Through collaboration and partnership it is spreading the word about the benefits of youth social action, working to embed it in the journey of young people and create fresh opportunities for participation. In 2014, NHS England made a pledge to the #Iwill campaign to ensure that young people have more opportunities to get involved in social action.
