UNCA’s members comprise a voluntary network of nonprofit community-based organizations including settlement houses, neighborhood and community centers, and similar community-building institutions. History progressiveinclusive change  Established in 1911, UNCA was founded as the National Federation of Settlements (NFS) in White Plains, NY, by Jane Addams, Lilian Wald, Graham Taylor, and other pioneers of US settlement house movement. NFS changed its name to United Neighborhood Centers of America (UNCA) in UNCA’s national headquarters is in Milwaukee, WI and its public policy office is in Washington, DC. UNCA has a proud history of progressive, inclusive social and public policy change.  Currently, UNCA is celebrating its 100 th Anniversary (from October 4, 2010 through October 19, 2011).
