Exponent Base b>0, b≠1 Exponential Functions

 When b>1, the function is an exponential growth. This means the function increases as x increases.  When 0<b<1, the function is an exponential decay. This means the function decreases as x increases. Quick Reminder

 Remember since “x” is the exponent, we can choose both positive and negative values for it. Choose 5 points total (2 negative, 2 positive and zero in the middle)  Plot the y-intercept  Exponentials have asymptotes  Describe what type of graph it is (growth or decay) This can be done by looking at the value of b or once it is graphed looking at the graph’s shape Graphing Exponentials
