What’s the deal with the Masterprof e-Learning platform? (in ten ore more slides … )

Why ? It’s open source (I mean it’s for free and we are also free to modify it at will; It’s an old timer (15+ years of experience count for something, isn’t it?); A lot of people all over the world are using it (this means a lot of testing, a lot of ideas, a lot of tools, modules and templates are available); It’s kind of trendy (Romanian Academy for Economic Studies, Polytechnic University of Bucharest, Petroleum-Gas University of Ploiesti, several POSDRU Programs and some other organizations from Romania are using it; It has a lot of useful features; It doesn’t need some expensive computation or communication resources; It’s easy to learn and easy to use.

Welcome to (which may imperfectly translate as: “The e-Learning platform of the “Didactics and more Didactics” Master program” ) At the end of 2 years of activity we have a fully grown e-learning platform with 4 different groups acting on it: –The first series of master students –The second series of master students –Teachers from many schools and high schools of the county which are members of the so called “application schools” –Us (the staff of the program which is having it’s own school hours)

Our first pupils – Master scienceNONfiction From a dream (our dream for a better teaching and learning), to an word game (“it’s science, not fiction … ”), to reality; These students are now close to finishing their studies (7 more class weeks from now on); Everybody benefited from the experience: they learned what it needs to be a skillful teacher, we learned how to act in this mixed learning environment.

An A+ grade master (aka “Masterat de nota 10”) Our fresh series of master students; A reason to brag about it a bit … at least now everything works like clockwork ; The students also may have things to boast about. After a semester of studies they already made several steps toward better teaching skills and capabilities; An active community with fast changes.

The “School” master or the “Master” school ?!? Our reality check – the meeting place for teachers all over the county from all the school levels, starting from kindergarten and ending to university; Targeted discussion forums for several interest groups; Resources shared by us for others to use in their schools.

Or just “the School” …

And finally, Master Academia Everybody is learning something. We are learning to become better at e-learning; Around 30 teachers are working on creating learning materials according to the rules imposed by this different environment for the 20 study objects included in the master; Master Academia means our place for exchanging ideas, for constructive criticism, for brainstorming, for receiving news and for sharing personal thoughts.
