Workers in So Cal comprise 2/3 of the state’s total workforce So Cal accounts for 69% of California’s foreign born population In some industries, such as garment, 90% of workers speak a language other than English and only 17% have above high school education Half of LOSH staff is bilingual; several are native Spanish speakers and foreign born LOSH has strong relationships with unions and community based organizations Educational activities are developed in and with the community Southern CA and LOSH

Street corners (day laborers; with SoCalCOSH) Mexican Consulate (Ventanilla de Salud) Health fairs Ethnic clubs Via Spanish media In collaboration with worker centers, small businesses and unions and in support of ongoing campaigns -- by building the capacity of community organizations (e.g. health promoters network) Outreach and Education at:
