The 5 Relationships of a Man Bishop Eleuterio Prieto Northwest Latin Conference IPHC

Genesis 1: Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.” So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.

RESPONSIBILITY – RELATIONSHIP = REBELLION

Five Relationships 1.A Man and his Lord. 2.A Man and his Church. 3.A Man and his Bride. 4.A Man and his Children. 5.A Man and his Work.

A Man and his Lord A Man and his Lord (Genesis 1:26-28) When God created man He did so with a desire to have a relationship with him. (Genesis 3:8) God is searching for man in his absence and hiding because of his sin. (Genesis 3:9) Sin is the great separator—Christ is the Great arbitrator! God is always pursuing us even when we are hiding from Him.

A Man and his Church. (Hebrews 10:24-25; Matthew 16:18)

A Man and his Church. When a mother comes to Christ, 17% of the family will follow her to Church. When a father comes to Christ, 93% of his family will follow him to Church and to faith in Christ. Today there are thirteen more women in church than men each Sunday.

A Man and his Church. 70% of our boys will leave church in their teens and twenties. The man is the greatest evangelism and discipleship tool missing from our churches. Men need the church…and the church needs YOU!

A Man and his Bride A Man and his Bride (Ephesians 5:25; Proverbs 18:22)

A Man and his Bride. Your relationship with your wife has to be stronger than your relationship with any other woman. She is your greatest confidant, cheerleader, and comrade!

A Man and his Bride. If your relationship with your wife is correct, then you will know when you need a tune‐up in your marriage. The joy of marriage is keeping your relationship fresh and enjoyable.

A Man and his Bride. Six ways to keep your marriage strong: Let your wife become your best friend. Never stop telling her, “I love you.” Make your wedding anniversary special.

A Man and his Bride. Listen! Listen! Listen! (Most men need big help in this area.) Pray for your wife and pray with your wife. Never stop dating.

A Man and his Children. (Ephesians 6:1-4)

A Man and his Children Balancing work and family Fathers who are growing more committed to their families face ever-increasing demands in the workplace. (2007 survey by Careerbuilder.com) Forty-eight percent of working fathers have missed a significant event in their child's life due to work at least once in the last year and nearly one in five (18 percent) have missed four or more.

A Man and his Children More than one in four (27 percent) working dads say they spend more than 50 hours a week on work and nearly one in 10 (8 percent) spend more than 60 hours. One in four (25 percent) working dads spend less than one hour with their kids each day. Forty- two percent spend less than two hours each day. Thirty-six percent of working dads say their company does not offer flexible work arrangements such as flexible schedules, telecommuting, job sharing and more.

A Man and his Children Dr. Pat Morley, Man in the Mirror addressed the subject about four kinds of fathers: Disconnected Father – This father is the one who does not care enough to provide structure for his children. Authoritarian Father – This is the father who builds fear instead of trust into his children. Permissive Father – This is the father who would rather be a best friend than a dad. Affirming Father – This is the father who shapes the heart and destiny of his children.

A Man and his Work A Man and his Work (Ecclesiastes 2:24; Psalms 90:17)

A Man and his Work There are two important days in any man’s life. Day of birth (biological and spiritual) The day you understand why you were born. Eight out of ten men in the church today do not like the jobs they have and how they make a living.

A Man and his Work Ed Silvoso, author of “Anointed for Business” talks about four types of Christians (men) in the workplace. The Christian who is simply trying to survive. The Christian who is living by Christian principles. The Christian who is living by the power of the Holy Spirit. The Christian who is transforming his workplace for Christ.
