Oscillatory Motion : A type of periodic motion

Periodic Motion:it is a type of motion which is regularly repeated in equal periods of time 1- Oscillatory motion 2- Wave motion

Oscillatory motion: It is a type of motion of the oscillating body around its rest point, where the motion is repeated through equal intervals of time.

Examples of oscillatory motion 1-tuning fork 2-spring 3-motion of swing 4- stretched ring

Application for Oscillatory motion Microwave oven; It is an oven used to cook or heat food _This vibrational (oscillatory motion ) causes the collision of water molecules which lead to the increase in its heat energy in a very short time that helps cooking the food faster.

Graphical representation of the oscillatory movement The simple harmonic motion is considered the simplest form of oscillatory motion.

Some concepts related to the oscillatory motion 1-Amplitude It is the maximum displacement done by the oscillatory body away from its original position The measuring unit of the amplitude is the meter or centimeter

2- complete oscillation It is the motion of an oscillating body when it passes by a fixed point on its path two successive times in the same direction

Important Law: 1) Complete oscillation includes four amplitudes.
