Progress Reports

Returning to the Comprehensive High School Placement at MSJ is voluntary. Students may return to their home high school at the beginning of a semester – 8/31/09 or 1/26/10. To return mid-year and be on track for graduation: Seniors need 195 credits Juniors need 135 credits

Testing Out of Classes Students may attempt to test out of class, show competency if they have taken the course once and failed. They must talk to their teacher the first week of attendance. The teacher will ask them questions to see if they have knowledge of the content. If teacher allows them, they can take the benchmark, if they receive 80% or better, they complete an additional project for credit.

Other ways to earn credit outside the regular school day For seniors with more than 130 credits, there are additional ways to earn credit outside the school day: 1.Home P.E. – up to 10 credits 2. Community service – up to 10 credits 3. Scrapbooking – up to 5 credits 4. Extended senior portfolio – for 10 credits 5. Creative writing and book reports – up to 10 credits each (See your counselor to enroll in these.)

Flexible Schedule Students must enroll in 4 classes per day, but we recommend 6. Enrolling in less than six can be flexible. For example, periods 2-6 or 2-5. If you want less than six periods, let your counselor know tonight before you leave.
